Dr. Myron Lunine Memorial Quilt

Dr. Myron “Mike” Lunine dedicated his life to non-violence–learning it, living it, and teaching it. He worked in higher education for 68 years, was a Fulbright scholar and professor, and founded socially engaged, interdisciplinary programs in six universities across the United States, as well as India, Turkey and Central America.

This quilt was commissioned by one of Mike’s sons, and given to Mike’s surviving spouse, Kay. Quilt blocks are composed of T-shirt graphics featuring themes of non-violence and education. Log cabin strips surround the center of each block and were cut from Mike’s T-shirt backs, bathrobes, neckties and handkerchiefs.
