Apollo and my kid, Rowan, have pretty much been besties since birth. Apollo’s mom (and my friend) Danica commissioned this quilt. She visited our family with a large suitcase full of outgrown baby, toddler and elementary age clothing. We spent a sweet afternoon looking through a pile of Apollo’s clothing that was mostly blue and lavender. Danica kept saying “this color reminds me so much of little Apollo!”, so we decided to make a quilt that ‘felt’ like Danica’s memories.
The colors and textures of Apollo’s early childhood are preserved here. Teenage Apollo has a different sense of style, but can still curl up under a quilt that feels like being little.
Beautiful edge-to-edge quilting by Susan Miner.
